About the Building

A theater that never really went dark.

Built in 1917 as the Fine Arts Theater, this Uptown landmark spent a century as a neighborhood gathering place. A careful 2020 renovation brought it back to life as three fully furnished apartments, each one balancing the building's original character with the comfort of a modern home.

The marquee may be gone, but the name stays. Walk through the front doors and you are greeted by the original lettering: Stage Door.

The Neighborhood

You're in the heart of Uptown.

This stretch of Baronne Street is the kind of place you settle into quickly. Mornings start with a fresh pot in your kitchen or coffee from a café around the corner, afternoons drift toward Magazine Street, and the streetcar is close enough that you may forget where you parked.

It is quiet without being sleepy and walkable without trying, the sort of genuinely local pocket of Uptown New Orleans that is hard to find when you are only here for a season. The St. Charles streetcar is two blocks away, and Touro, Children's Hospital, Ochsner Baptist and Tulane Medical Center are all a short hop — an easy base for traveling nurses, residents and physicians on assignment. Everything below is within a short walk or quick ride.

  • Next DoorMartin’s Wine Cellar at 3827 Baronne, less than a block away — a beloved wine shop and lunch spot, and a neighborhood institution since 1946.
  • DownstairsZee's Pizzeria and Lucy Boone Ice Cream are right in the building, one flight down.
  • One Block OverThe Columns, the landmark 1883 mansion on St. Charles Avenue — its grand porch and bar are a New Orleans rite of passage, and the closest piece of history to your door.
  • A Short WalkThe Chloe, the celebrated boutique hotel on St. Charles whose courtyard restaurant and poolside bar draw locals and guests alike.

How It Works

From first look to move-in.

Renting here is refreshingly straightforward. Here is exactly what to expect, start to finish, so you are never left wondering what comes next.

  1. 1

    Inquire or request a showing

Send a note or book a tour, in person or over video. She’ll be in touch.

  2. 2

    Apply online

Once a unit feels right, apply through its secure application link. It only takes a few minutes.

  3. 3

    Application review

Review takes anywhere from 48 hours to about a week. The moment a decision is made, you are notified by email.

  4. 4

    Lease & sign

We draft and send your lease. Jesse is always happy to walk through it with you and answer any questions before you sign.

  5. 5

    Secure your unit

Your deposit is due as soon as the lease is signed. The unit is not reserved until the deposit is received, so the sooner it is in, the sooner it is yours.

  6. 6

    Move in

Before your start date you will get a move-in email from property management. You receive access on the first day of your lease, once your first month’s rent is confirmed.

  7. 7

    Move out, settled cleanly

When your stay ends, we assess the unit and have it professionally cleaned. Your deposit is returned within 30 days to your preferred account, along with a report of any deductions and the matching receipts.
